Welcome to the Lucyd fam! Lucyd is a crowdfunded, employee-owned company focused on upgrading the world’s eyewear.
We were founded by three like-minded tech entrepreneurs committed to developing the global standard in smart eyewear. We set out to build the first smart eyewear product that works just like regular glasses, while helping you stay connected to your digital life. Our initial funding came from Tekcapital plc, a UK investment firm that transforms university innovations into new products to improve quality of life. For much of 2019, our efforts were devoted solely to smart eyewear testing and development.
After a year of rigorous research and development, we launched a notable beta product, Lucyd Loud 2020, a sport-style audio sunglass. Loud 2020 taught our team a lot about what was needed to build a successful, mainstream smart eyewear product. In 2020, we also launched our first regulation crowdfund, attracting nearly 4,000 tech-loving investors to our company and raising over $1m from a grassroots campaign.
Here is where our story takes off in earnest! In January 2021, we launched the Lucyd Lyte line, the first optical-quality smart frame on the market. Lyte represents a completely new standard in smart eyewear, of frames that look and feel like designer eyeglasses and sunglasses, but capable of so much more. We went on to delight thousands of customers with our frames and onboard over 180 optical stores in the US and Canada to carry Lucyd. See our store locator here! Returns on frames and accessories - if return is requested within 7 days of confirmed delivery, account credit, reimbursement, and order replacement are all options, and return shipping is free. ONLY FRAMES, 3-LENS PACKS AND ACCESSORIES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CASH REFUNDS, custom lens upgrades (such as preions and non-preion tinted lenses) are only returnable for store credit in all instances, and only when a return is requested within 7 days of confirmed delivery. Shipping upgrades are not eligible for refund. Don't worry if we don't get back to you immediately, as long as you request the return within 7 days of receipt you are eligible. Manufacturer Warranty coverage - from 1 year from the date of delivery, the customer can request a replacement if the product has a factory defect. Customer will be required to return the defective unit. Shipping will be provided. Replacement product - if customer claims glasses are missing/undelivered within 21 days of shipment. If this can be verified through tracking information an additional pair of the exact same specifications can be shipped. If it can’t, Lucyd will contact the postal service to attempt to locate the order. If it still cannot be located, Lucyd will replace the glasses. Missing return - if the returned glasses do not arrive back at Lucyd, but it can be seen by tracking number/good faith that the customer attempted return, a credit or replacement will be granted based on the time frame. Damaged return - if the returned glasses are damaged beyond use, the customer will still receive a refund as normal according to the time frame. Return packaging - customers will be advised to retain all original packaging in checkout confirmation email. Customers will be responsible for return packaging. You can send your glasses back within 7 days of receiving them for a full refund or store credit. Just email [email protected] for a free postage label. Please bear in mind it will need to be postmarked within 7 days of your confirmed delivery. But after this, the 1 year warranty provides additional protection.
