Prior to coming to Tombstone, he had worked as an assistant marshal in Dodge City, Kansas, a booming center of the cattle trade that was hailed as the “Wickedest Little City in the West.” Earp was the last surviving participant in the OK Corral gunfight, passing away in 1929 at the age of 80 at his home in Los Angeles
